We see a steady increase in calls for virus problems immediately after longWeekend. Avoid the problem entirely by updating your security software before starting your computer. For a free listing of viruses, spyware threats and trends, see: http://www.VisitingGeeks.com/downloads.htm

There are 2 schools of thought ...

Turning on and off several times during the day to bow topics of micro-circuitsand fatigue due to change in temperatures. Over time, this could lead to a break in the circuit and cause system failures.

You leave the computer all the time brings more wear and tear of mechanical components (HDD spindle motor and fan).

Best compromise. First user in the morning it is on; last user turns it off.

We leave our desktops on all the time so that Scheduled Tasks program to run for hours overnight. We start the system(to flush the RAM and reset to remove the operating system) regularly and routinely to the case covers to clean that dust may have accumulated, especially around the fans and screens.
